The Wolf Tooth Chainring 48t 110 BCD 5-Bolt is designed for cyclocross and road use with 10, 11, and 12-speed drivetrains. Featuring Wolf Tooth's patented Drop-Stop tooth design, this chainring improves chain retention by alternating wide and narrow teeth. The wide teeth maximize contact on the drive side to reduce load and increase chainring life, while the narrow teeth provide clearance for mud and debris, reducing friction and preventing chain derailment.
This chainring fits 110 BCD 5-arm cranksets and is made from durable 7075-T6 aluminum. It can be mounted in either the big or small ring position on double cranksets, typically used in the big ring position for better chainstay clearance. For SRAM cranks with the hidden bolt, that bolt must be transferred to the Wolf Tooth chainring. Standard 2x chainring bolts will not work; 6mm bolts optimized for single ring mounting are required.
Compatibility includes 1x9, 1x10, 1x11, and 1x12 drivetrains, and all 10-, 11-, and 12-speed chains except 12-speed chains (which require a specific Wolf Tooth chainring). For 9-speed drivetrains, a 10-speed chain is recommended. The chainring is not compatible with Asymmetric 110 BCD or Campagnolo CX10/11 cranks.
Use of a clutch-style rear derailleur is recommended to enhance chain security. In very muddy conditions, pairing with a chainguide or chainkeeper is advised to prevent chain drops and chainsuck.
This chainring is black and made in the USA. It weighs 115g for the 48-tooth version.
